i love the holidays

finally the cold weather has arrived, the tree is up, and the kids are excited. christmas has always been a favorite holiday of mine but when you have kids and you see how much fun it is for them, then it truly becomes a wonderful time of year. don't worry....i'm not getting mushy. i don't get mushy. kril and i finished our shopping. ha ha ha! done and done. yay. declan and i made gingerbread cookies yesterday, and kiera has stopped tugging at the ornaments on the tree. she still points at the ones she wants to pull off and says something like, "dat mash". we usually don't know what she is saying. i think she is saying, "i want to pull that one off, step on it, and chew it for a while. is that okay?" we would love to know what goes through that little brain of hers.

declan is still saying funny things now and then. not too long ago he was telling us about a girl in his class at school. apparently she likes to play in the dark. declan is telling us about this and says, "that's the greediest thing i've ever heard". we laughed so hard and then quizzed him about the meaning of greedy. it was hilarious. that same day he went to home depot with kril. on the way home, kril bought him a tall bottle of gatorade. it started to fall out of his cup holder when kril made a sharp turn in the truck. declan states, "my gatorade was attempting to fall, but I caught it". wow! he used this word correctly.

they are a constant form of entertainment for us!
